Već 77. po redu dodjela Zlatnog globusa održana je u nedjelju navečer na Beverly Hillsu - događaj je to koji ususret Oscarima okuplja kremu filmske industrije. Bilo je smijeha, kliznula je i pokoja suza, a bilo je tu svakako i glamuroznih toaleta u kojima su se osobito dame trudile pokazati u najboljem svjetlu. Svečanost ovogodišnje dodjele Zlatnih globusa, kipića koji se smatraju i najboljim pokazateljem tko bi mogao osvojiti najvažniju nagradu u ovoj industriji, Oscara, rekordni peti put vodio je britanski komičar Ricky Gervais. Iznimno respektabilan Zlatni globus za životno djelo dobio je Tom Hanks, dobitnik dvaju Oscara te četiriju Zlatnih globusa, a donosimo i pregled ostalih nominiranih i dobitnika:
